Whats the story... ?
I always say that I came into this business sideways. I graduated from North Carolina State University with a BS in Botany. From there I spent 4 years working in RTP for Paradigm Genetics (later known as Icoria) working in Greenhouse Management, High-throughput genomic sequencing.... growing little plants, science blah blah blah...
Now its a long and winding road work wise from then to now. But eventually I ended up installing sealed crawlspaces, and spraying polyurethane foam. Most of this work was in existing homes and being a science geek at heart I started to try to understand the "Why" of what I was doing.
Over the next 15 years I've worked to become a specialist in high performance building envelopes and their air, thermal, and moisture barrier alignment. I've become an expert in the application, specification, and performance of sprayed polyurethane foam, fluid and self applied air/ vapor barriers, waterproofing, and fiberglass batt and blown insulation.
